Youth Confirmation

The Sacrament of Confirmation

It is a blessing in the life of every Catholic, and a precept of the Church, to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation.  Diocesan policies guide the administration of this Sacrament.  These guidelines include:

  • you must be Baptized
  • you must be Catholic
  • you are expected to join the three year Confirmation Preparation Program in your parish.

Here at Holy Rosary our preparation:

  • begins in ninth grade, continues in tenth and eleventh grade
  • includes a retreat experience every year
  • has required service hours and spiritual hours
  • has meetings bi-weekly on Sunday mornings from 9:00 - 11:30 (this includes Sunday 10:30 Mass)
  • looks for parental involvement.

Am I ready to be Confirmed?

Our youth are a great blessing to our Church.  We know some strongly adhere to Catholic life and practice, we know some rarely connect with Catholic life and practice, and there are others in all sorts of places in between.  To start the preparation program we expect:

  • your openness to learning and deepening the Faith given to you
  • your attendance at our classes and events
  • your respect for parishioners, teachers, fellow students.
