Sacrament of Confirmation (Youth)

Sacrament of Confirmation (Youth)

It is a blessing in the life of every Catholic, and a precept of the Church, to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. Diocesan policies guide the administration of this Sacrament.  These guidelines include:

  • Must be Baptized
  • Must be Catholic
  • Expected to join the three year Confirmation Preparation Program in your parish

At Holy Rosary our preparation:

  • Begins in ninth grade, continues in tenth and eleventh grade
  • Includes a retreat experience every year
  • Required service hours and spiritual hours
  • Meetings bi-weekly on Sunday mornings from 9:00 - 11:30 (this includes Sunday 10:30 Mass)
  • Looks for parental involvement

Am I ready to be Confirmed?

Our youth are a great blessing to our Church. We know some strongly adhere to Catholic life and practice, we know some rarely connect with Catholic life and practice, and there are others in all sorts of places in between.  To start the preparation program we expect:

  • Openness to learning and deepening the faith given
  • Attendance at classes and events
  • Respect for parishioners, teachers and fellow students
